The Trinity Saints Varsity boys and girls played two well fought games at Union Christian Academy in Farmerville, LA. this evening, (Saturday, Jan. 28th). The boys game against the Lions was the most exciting and often fast paced, with the Saints coming out barely on top, 40-38. The first half was close, but in the 3rd quarter, the Saints scored 17 points and kept UCA scoreless until about a minute left, allowing only 4 points. But the Lions came back in the 4th quarter, after being down by 11 points, in the final minutes scored 18 points to tie the game with 13 seconds left. With just 6 seconds, with UCA bringing the ball into play at half court, Jakarius Caston stole the ball and scored the winning layup with less than 2 seconds remaining. It was also good to see Kevontaye Caston playing in his first game of the season. Jakarius Caston 22 points, David Jackson 8, DeSanto Rollins 7, Kris Genous 2 and Kevontaye Caston 1.

The girls game was also exciting, with the Lady Saints winning 41-31. At half time, the score was UCA 23 - THS 22. But our girls outs-scored them 12 to 4 in the 3rd quarter, and kept that lead to the end. D'Asia Mitchell led with 20 points, Jasmine Ivory 15, Rearnna Mayberry 4 and Ja'Mescya Queen 2.

Trinity's next games are on Tuesday, Jan. 31st at Amite School Center in Liberty, MS, for all 4 teams starting at 4:00 pm. Go Saints!
